Welcome

Wow! 20 years...... An absolutely amazing journey...and in case you haven't noticed one which has carried Americas' Classic Championships right to the top of the industry. Not, however, without alot of hard work and dedication by a lot of fine people and the considerable support from all of you, our loyal patrons.

Center stage are Mario and Angel and, "of course, Ms Cher". These three people are, and rightfully so, considered across the nation and the globe to be among the true custodians, guardians and keepers of this dance. They are not only owners, and directors but pioneers and innovators; the founders of AANCE and founder of Global Swing DJs, instructors, respected choreographers, judges and chief judges, masters of ceremonies, DJ's, competitors and champions.

So too, are they responsible for ACC's growth into one of the most prestigious and respected WCS dance events in the nation. Owing to that, I would propose that a win at ACC is a significant achievement. And in anticipation of this coming of age, Cher asked me, some time ago, to create an award that was truly unique and more appropriately representative of "significant achievement in the world of competitive WCS dancing", much as the Oscars are in a sister industry.

Now, I know everyone liked the Champagne bottles so if you have one hang on to it because they are no more. In celebration of this 20th edition of Americas' Classic and with continued dedication to elevating and improving the event, I would like at this time to introduce you to "MACCI", overseer and guardian; and symbol of excellence as are Mario, Angel and Cher and yours for the win!

Her name comes from the first letters in Mario, Angel and Cher. M A C and We call her "MACCI". It is our sincere hope that you will see her as representative of their values and spirit, as well as an award for your accomplishment. And, should you win one embrace the spirit in which it was given and take that with you as you pursue your dream. We believe there is great value in what you do and this is, in part, our way of showing it.

With that said, I am privileged to present the first 3 MACCI's on your behalf with gratitude and appreciation for their direction, guidance, and uncompromising dedication to the expansion and preservation of WCS the world over. They were after all her inspiration. Mario, Angel and "of course Ms. Cher."
